Before we get into the concepts of enqueue and dequeue in java, let’s build up a basic understanding of the whole concept of queue. Enqueue thread must not wait for dequeue thread. Besides basic collection operations, queues provide additional insertion, extraction, and inspection operations. So, the way the enqueue function works is it appends the element that the program wishes to enqueue to the end of the queue. There are no fixed limits on the deque for the number of elements they may contain. Enqueue operation is used to insert the new element into the queue at the rear side. 10.this feature of blocking queue can be used for a custom thread pool implementation. It was fought by members of British Ranger companies led by Robert Rogers against French troops and Indians allied to France. If you have an interest in architecture, your home’s chain of title, historic restoration or Louisiana history, please come visit the Lang House Museum and take the tour. Over the seven year history of OMHA we have completed significant research on Mandeville’s unique history. The Lang House officially opened its doors to the public in December of 2014, at which time the majority of restoration had been completed but further progress is ongoing. The Jean Baptiste Lang House now rests at 605 Carroll Street and serves as a museum and multi-functional community space. The Old Mandeville Historic Association accepted the task of breathing new life into this quintessential Creole beauty. The salvation of this modest cottage was a pivotal point in the direction of our town. The city provided funds to move the Lang House from Lakeshore Drive six blocks inland to the beautiful Kierr Gardens, which was donated by the Kierr family. The storm caused significant damage, and the Mandeville community rallied behind its salvation. The Jourdan Family donated the Lang House to the City of Mandeville after Hurricane Katrina. We have a moratorium on demolitions of historic structures, the city hosts lectures on tax credits for historic rehabilitation, and we have the salvation of the Jean Baptiste Lang House. Thanks to a study commissioned by our former mayor, Donald Villere, we now have the benefits of a historic district. People were deeply saddened to watch homes succumb to the wrecking ball and decided to do something about it. Many of these historic homes had hope but instead, slipped out of our hands forever. There were the houses that simply washed away and those that could not be saved, but there were also those on the brink. ![]() Post-Katrina reconstruction seemed to have little preservation controls in place. Old Mandeville received significant damage from the storm. One of the best kept secrets in the Deep South, Old Mandeville sat precariously, on a modest ridge on August 29, 2005, ready to slip away from us, into the storm surge of Hurricane Katrina. ![]() This rustic little time capsule sat undisturbed for 150 years. Old Mandeville survived the Civil War, Reconstruction, economic upturns and downturns, and because of the modern growth of Northshore suburbia and dismissal of the “Old Towne” as insignificant, this historic enclave survived post World War II modernization. This ‘primitive’ building had a wine cellar, a bath house and wharf, slave quarters, kitchen house, stables, cistern, bead board galore, slate roof, and a double chimney just for the sake of pretense. The recent gutting of the interior has exposed a myriad of ancient colors and woodwork. The Lang House is full of architectural features, such as the faux bois oak finish, mortise and tenon construction, tongue and groove floors, scarf joints, diagonal braces, Creole mantle with Creole Diamond to name a few. These camps were similar in plan and scale, with a range of three rooms across the front or south side, mirror image “cabinets” situated in the rear corners, and an open “loggia” across the rear-middle. Therefore as New Orleans thrived, Mandeville thrived. The elite built summer homes, or camps, in Mandeville to escape the busy streets of the city. This home, like many along “Lake Street,” (presently Lakeshore Drive) was a reflection of the wealth generated from the antebellum economy of New Orleans. It was completed in 1852 by Jean Baptiste Lang, a successful Belgian tobacco merchant. The Jean Baptiste Lang House is one of just a few “Anglo-Creole” structures left standing in Old Mandeville. Uefi disk map8/5/2023 ![]() The industry perceived EFI as a way to address the memory and processing limitations of BIOS in x86 server architectures. Intel developed the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) as an outgrowth of its 64-bit Itanium server architecture in the 1990s, a technology codeveloped with computer maker Hewlett Packard (HP). The emergence of UEFI parallels the increased drive densities used for modern application workloads. In 1981, IBM was the first vendor to incorporate BIOS in PCs, a move that prompted broad industry adoption. UEFI's evolution from EFIīIOS has been in use since the advent of disk OS computers in the mid-1970s. However, for ease of understanding, some information technology users refer to the processes collectively as UEFI BIOS, despite their substantial differences. In general, BIOS is considered a vestige from earlier computing, whereas UEFI is regarded as the wave of the future. UEFI is programmable, enabling original equipment manufacturer developers to add applications and drivers and UEFI to function as a lightweight OS. Taken together, this information defines the required interfaces and structures that must be implemented for firmware and hardware devices to support UEFI. UEFI contains platform-related data tables and boot and runtime service calls used by the OS loader. In addition, UEFI provides enhanced computer security features and supports most existing BIOS systems with backward compatibility. UEFI defines a new method by which OSes and platform firmware communicate, providing a lightweight BIOS alternative that uses only the information needed to launch the OS boot process. has stated its intention to phase out BIOS support in newer personal computers (PCs). Most modern computer systems are equipped to support traditional BIOS, as well as UEFI, although Intel Corp. The new specification addresses several limitations of BIOS, including restrictions on hard disk partition size and the amount of time BIOS takes to perform its tasks. It checks to see which hardware components are attached, wakes up the components and hands them over to the OS. Like BIOS, UEFI is installed at the time of manufacturing and is the first program that runs when booting a computer. UEFI functions via special firmware installed on a computer's motherboard. The specification is most often pronounced by naming the letters U-E-F-I. UEFI is expected to eventually replace basic input/output system ( BIOS) but is compatible with it. That could be problematic when using the camera underwater. The back of the Olympus Tough TG-3 is styled on a traditional digital compact camera with smaller buttons. Interval shooting does pretty much the same thing, but they remain as separate images. The latter will take a succession of images over a pre-determined time period and make it into a video for you. The TG-3 also offers Interval shooting and Time-Lapse video. Those filters are available if you wish to use them and the Olympus ones are some of the better ones on the market. More and more people wish to be creative in their photography and not just by sticking an Instagram style filter over it. It will work even if the camera is powered off. The e.compass is a compass that appears on the back of the screen allowing you to get your bearings and will also show longitude and latitude. The camera will then match that information up with the photograph taken at that time and you can place it on an online map, such as Google Maps. If you're unfamiliar with how GPS can help you, it will record the times you took a picture and where you were. The new TruePic VII processor can also adapt its operations according to the settings you have on the camera at the time.Ĭlearly the Olympus Tough TG-3 has been designed around extensive travel use because it has been fitted with GPS and wifi and there's also an e.compass feature. As we mentioned, the advantage is more light falling on the sensor which means it's more responsive in low light and helps reduce noise. To view the sensor when fitted in the camera, it looks as though it's on backwards, so the back would be illuminated with light when taking a photo if it was a normal sensor. On a BSI sensor (sometimes referred to as a back-illuminated sensor) the circuitry is placed on the back of the sensor which frees up space and allows more light onto the pixels. Traditional sensors have circuitry surrounding each pixel which transports the information to the processor. BSI stands for Back-Side Illuminated and refers to the way the sensor is built. On top of all that the sensor is a BSI CMOS. The zoom is at a modest 4x optical but given that a large zoom will reduce the quality of the image as it's at the extreme ends, that's not such a bad thing. It will mean allowing faster shutter speeds at lower ISO which is great for underwater where natural light is a premium. The lens has a fast f/2 aperture for better low light photography. The Olympus Tough TG-3 has an impressive specification. These days it's all about how versatile the camera is and how much punishment it can take. ![]() The bezel is fitted with a rubber ring so when it's attached no liquid gets in which is a nice touch. The silver disc that surrounds the lens can be removed so that you can fix lens attachments to the camera such as an LED light guide and lens converters. The result of this union shows through in the latest offering in the Tough range, with the TG-3.įrom a distance, it looks like any other shockproof and waterproof compact camera with a chunky grip, pronounced buttons and oversized bezel. Sadly, this saw off the celebrated Mju cameras as Olympus decided that a weatherproof camera wasn't as necessary in the market when they could amalgamate the best bits of Mju into Tough. It can be argued that Olympus pioneered the camera that was fully protected yet also looked like a normal camera with the Tough series. Actual underwater cameras had large, thick bodies that protected against water and butter fingers. In the past, digital compact cameras needed large plastic boxes that surrounded the entire body before you could take any underwater pictures. The Olympus Tough TG-3 is available in red or black and costs around £349 / $349. In this full test, we discover how all those features and the 16 megapixel resolution work together. Other desirable features include GPS and wifi built-in, stereo sound and a bright f/2 lens. The Olympus Tough TG-3 is a digital compact camera that is also part of the Tough range of cameras sporting full protection against water, sand and accidental dropping.
